Suspension of club hockey until 4 December season extended to 25 April; relevant fixtures to be moved.

Club hockey has been suspended until 4 December. England Hockey’s statement on this can be read here.

Four Saturdays will be lost. To deal with this, we have decided to cancel the divisional finals, to extend the season to Sunday 25 April, and to move the fixtures to the four ‘new’ Saturdays, to save clubs having to liaise. This will be implemented on FixturesLive in the next few days:

– fixtures due to be played this coming Saturday 7 November will be moved to 27 March
– 14 November’s fixtures will be moved to 10 April
– 21 November’s fixtures will be moved to 17 April
– 28 November’s fixtures will be moved to 24 April

We have not amended times or venues, and so clubs will need to review these and change them accordingly.

Clubs are free to vary these changes if they wish, but always let Maureen Henderson know of any agreed fixture changes on

We are aware that some Covid-hit fixtures have yet to be rearranged. As there are no slip dates left, please squeeze these in on Sundays or evenings as best you can.

If clubs can agree ‘double header’ matches (i.e. a single match, with a single result, covering both home and away fixtures), we have no objections, but this should be used as a last resort.

To state the obvious, we don’t know what else may be coming this season. Good luck to everyone, and stay healthy!
